I am Taylor’s student now in semester 2 of foundation. I have done integrated project with my friends for English subject on DIB (Deaf in Business). It was a bit shocked when I first heard that DIB. My friends also didn’t know what is DIB. We were all curious about that and kept asking lecturer for further information. Lecturer explained to us that DIB is a specific type of business for deaf only. She told us that we should found it out ourselves. Two weeks after that, we decided to go DIB in Kepong when it was Monday. But only two guys were going, we didn’t make it because the others two were going back home. But, we made it all going at the second time.
When we were entering the DIB shop, there was nothing different from normal coffee shop. Besides, the workers there will not talk to you anymore, but, their smile really impresses me. I really think that Dr Allen had done quite a good job. He gave a chance to those disabled people and made it a good idea to business. This attracted many young people to come. However, I am not sure that is it a charity activity? It is because Dr Allen didn’t share the certain profit to all the workers. We really like activity this time. It is quite a totally new thing to us. I hope that if we have the similar activity next time. Lecturer can organise a party and gather the same course student to go at the same time. It will be funnier. I have learned a great thing from this time activity is a good idea is the most important thing to a business. By the way, good management is also required to bring the business going.
