TANG MING YIK

From what I have found from the analysis is that for Tourism Arrivals and Receipts in Malaysia the independent is Arrival, dependant is Receipts (RM). For year 2103 which has the highest receipt and arrivals which is 65.44 billion and 25.72 million respectively. The lowest is year 2005 which has 16.43 million and 32.0 billion for arrivals and receipts respectively. It is shown that the arrivals (million) increases together with the receipts (billion). It also shows that there is a positive linear regrehssion between the arrivals (million) and the receipts (billion).

For the Y-intercept, the receipt will be 22.3161 billion when there is no arrivals. For the slope, the receipts (billion) will increase in 3.2833 for every unit increase in arrivals (million).

The independent variable is explained by the dependant variable due to the coefficient of correlation, r 0.9897 shows a very strong relationship between the, It is shown that 97.95% of the variation in the arrivals (million) of tourism is the determination of correlation. Y is explained by the variation of the number of receipts (billion). The other factors explains the remaining 2.05% The regression equation is recommended to predict the dependant variable. This is due to the coefficient of determination, r2 is 97.95% which is considered a good prediction. 1.78 is quite high for a standard error. It might be due to the variables X and Y containing decimal places. There is strong positive correlation between the variable shown is the scatter diagram as all the points are closely fitted to the line. According to the information, the regression equation Y=22.3161 + 3.2833X is a good predictor for the dependant variable, receipt (billion).

According to the table the mean is the average arrivals (million) of tourism to Malaysia are 22.2978. The median is half of the arrivals (million) are below 23.65 and half are above it.Dispersion which is the standard deviation is spread 3.3682 around the mean.

According to the table the mean is the average receipts (billion) of tourism to Malaysia are 50.8933. The median is half of the receipts (billion) are below 53.4 and half are above it.Dispersion which is the standard deviation is spread 11.1739 around the mean.

According to the arrivals of tourist in the histogram which shows the highest frequency of the 5 arrivals to Malaysia is between 23.43 -25.74 and the 2 frequency lie in 16.43 – 18.75. For frequency 1 there is two which is 18.76 – 21.08 and 21.09 – 23.41.

According to the tourism histogram, the one with the highest frequency is 3 which lies in 48.74 – 57.10 and 57.11 – 65.47 respectively. The one with the lowest frequency is 1 which lies in 40.37 – 48.73. The one with which lies in 32.00 – 40.36 is 2.
